Tariffs and Simulation

The very last step allows for computation of tariffs based on the effective costs and on the traffic. The main window displays these tariffs for the terminal traffic, the interconnection traffic and the transit traffic. Additionally, the access deficit is computed. The profit and loss are also displayed for the terminal and interconnection traffic, based on the difference between the computed tariff and the actual tariff charged.

To arrive at cost-oriented tariffs, some additional data has to be entered:

The current prices (button "Current Prices")  for the:

• Urban traffic;
• Interurban traffic;
• International incoming traffic (a dedicated tool is available to compute it);
• International outgoing traffic (a dedicated tool is available to compute it);
• Subregional incoming traffic (a dedicated tool is available to compute it);
• Subregional outgoing traffic (a dedicated tool is available to compute it);
• National incoming single transit interconnection traffic;
• National incoming double transit interconnection traffic;
• National outgoing interconnection traffic;
• National to national interconnection traffic;
• International to national interconnection traffic;
• National to international interconnection traffic.

The percentage of the turnover allocated to Universal Service, the amount of money received for Universal Service, the amount of the connection tax and the monthly rental fee are the data necessary for calculation and must be entered in the simulation dialogue.

Calculation of cost-oriented tariffs

This button allows for computation of tariffs according to unit costs and the parameters entered by the user, with the exception of  the price for urban and interurban traffic. 

Simulation of Universal Service Obligations

This button allows for evaluation of the impact of a new price for urban and interurban traffic on other tariffs. The computation is performed in the same way as in the previous section, but the prices for urban and interurban traffic are forced to the value entered by the user.

Calculate cost-based tariffs

Based on the data on tariffs displayed and calculated access deficit, this last button will modify the price of urban and interurban traffic until the access deficit is nil.

Report

Depending on whether the access deficit is nil or not, the report prepared shows cost-based or cost-oriented tariffs, respectively.
